Green Key The key for sustainability in Pestana Vintage Porto Hotel

The enormous growth of tourism in the last years has been followed by the adoption of practices capable of reducing the negative consequences of this increase, which is portrayed by the rise of atributed Green Key awards. But, which are the practices that the hotels should adopt to receive this Award and who is involved in its implementation?

The 10th-grade Tourism Technician and Restaurant/Bar Technician Professional Courses’ students made this video report to inform which are the practices adopted by hotels, in order to receive the Green Key Award.
To make this video report they conducted research online and prepared a script and an interview. Simultaneously, they contacted multiple hotels who received such Award. Pestana Vintage OPorto Hotel accepted to collaborate in this project.
It’s clear that when sustainability is concerned, nothing is left to chance. Workers, hotel guests, suppliers, and community members are involved in the implementation of environmental practices aimed at promoting tourism sustainability, allowing visitors to enjoy a unique city, preserving it for the next generations.
