Immiscible destinies

Cooking oil is widely used in food preparation, in restaurants or in more home-made environments. However, many people do not recycle the oil that could be reused in the production of, for example, biodiesel. In fact, they dump it through the sink! Every drop of oil can pollute about 10,000 liters of drinking water. It can also affect the soil, climate and structures.

Together with other materials, the discarded cooking oil is the most responsible for clogging the sewage system. In addition, if improperly disposed of in drains and sinks, the oil can interfere with the sewage treatment process and affect the entire wastewater treatment process.
